The public institution Audio-visual Center of Republika Srpska, together with the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, is organizing the Film Summer School for the second time, and the application deadline is tomorrow.

The Film Summer School is a ten-day workshop aimed at introducing high school students to audio-visual arts through a theoretical and practical approach. Over ten days, participants will have the opportunity to go through the creative process from idea to premiere, culminating in a jointly produced film, said Anja Ilić, director of the Audio-visual Center, to RTRS.

“The goal of this school is to interest young people in enrolling in the Academy of Arts and pursuing a career in film. I am proud of the results of the Audio-visual Center. This year, we have announced 21 calls for applications. Things are happening as planned, with more and more interested participants and quality projects, and some of our films are participating in international festivals,” added Ilić.

The Film Summer School will be held from August 19 to 29 this year on the campus of the University of Banja Luka.

“The lecturers who will lead and train the participants are prominent professors from the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, who are experts in scriptwriting, directing, production, camera work, and other audio-visual activities. The target group of the workshop is high school students from first to fourth grade,” said Ilić.

Applications for the workshop are submitted via a public call, and a professional commission will select 25 participants. The deadline for application is tomorrow, June 18.
