The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management of Republika Srpska, Savo Minić, stated that the recently signed agreements and memorandums, awaiting ratification in the assemblies of Serbia and Srpska, should enable more efficient agricultural payments and entry into third markets in practice.

“Serbia has taken a few steps ahead of us in terms of the calculation system, control areas, and payment methods. We want to adopt all these best practices, but it is very important that we have aligned prices. Serbia is the largest foreign trade partner of Srpska, and we should ensure compatibility,” Minić emphasized.

His colleague from Serbia, Aleksandar Martinović, pointed out that cooperation continues in several other areas, such as agreements in the field of phytosanitary inspection, which will contribute to better flow of goods.

“We exchanged experiences, and by working in agriculture, I believe we have made a significant leap with e-agriculture, which allows for quick applications for subsidies. We have a range of other IT achievements that we will gladly share with our colleagues and friends from Srpska,” Martinović concluded.

The ministers also highlighted an important agreement concerning the relations between Serbia and Srpska in managing the lower course of the Drina River.
