The International Economic Forum has begun, during which a meeting will be held in St. Petersburg between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik. As announced, President Dodik will be awarded the Yeltsin Presidential Library Medal. This prestigious global economic event will be an opportunity for Republika Srpska to showcase its potentials.
After being honored by Russian President Vladimir Putin with the Order of Alexander Nevsky for his significant contribution to the cooperation between Russia and BiH, especially for strengthening the partnership with Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik is set to receive another accolade.
The Yeltsin Presidential Library Medal will be presented to him tomorrow at the St. Petersburg forum. Both Milorad Dodik and Vladimir Putin are expected to arrive in St. Petersburg tomorrow.
Their meeting is scheduled for the afternoon hours. The main event of the multi-day forum will be a plenary session where the Russian President will address the audience on Friday. The theme of this year’s St. Petersburg Forum is “The Foundation of Multipolarity — Forming New Growth Centers.” More than 130 delegations will present their capabilities, including representatives from the Government of the Luhansk People’s Republic.
- It is important for us to participate in the economy of the entire state as an integral part of the Russian Federation and to present our production, said Svetlana Podlipaeva, a representative of the Luhansk People’s Republic government.
The Luhansk Republic has showcased its potentials in mining, machinery, agriculture, and food production sectors.
Numerous producers from China are also participating in the Forum. The Chinese luxury car manufacturer “Hongqi” has presented its products. They entered the Russian market a year ago.
- For us, participating in the Forum is of crucial importance. The most valuable thing is that we can present vehicles that even the Chinese government uses, said Ivan Savelyev, Executive Director of “Hongqi Russia.”
Despite the sanctions imposed on Russia and attempts to isolate it, the Chinese company emphasized that the Russian Federation is a good partner for cooperation. Since becoming an integral part of Russia, progress is also being felt in the Luhansk Republic.
- The Russian Federation is a large market, and we are ready to expand, added Podlipaeva.
This is also an opportunity for Republika Srpska and its enterprises and cities, whose potentials will be showcased at this year’s prestigious economic event.
