The Investment and Development Bank of Republika Srpska is ready to partner with the world’s largest climate fund – the Green Climate Fund.
This conclusion was reached during today’s meeting between the acting director of the Investment and Development Bank of Republika Srpska, Dražen Vrhovac, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers, Staša Košarac, and the Green Climate Fund project management expert, Goran Janjić. The meeting was held today at the Representation of Republika Srpska in Belgrade.
During discussions on accrediting the IRB as an implementation unit of the Green Climate Fund, activities were agreed upon for a joint appearance by the IRB and the Ministry at a meeting with the Fund, which will be held in September at the GCF headquarters in Seoul.
The Green Climate Fund has given positive evaluations to the Investment and Development Bank of Republika Srpska for implementing the green agenda in Republika Srpska, according to a statement from the IRB of Srpska.
It was assessed that the IRB meets all standards and is a credible institution for implementing the agenda at the international level. The IRB has received recommendations to be a partner in the implementation of funds for our entrepreneurs for projects in the fields of green energy, decarbonization, solar power plants, and similar initiatives.
- It was once again confirmed that the IRB of Srpska conducts a responsible policy towards Republika Srpska. We are recognized as a respectable institution that can meet the standards of the world’s largest funds, said acting director of the IRB, Dražen Vrhovac.
Košarac stated that, thanks to the responsible policies of the institutions of Republika Srpska, the IRB is recognized by international organizations as a credible and relevant partner.
- Our goal is to support the efforts of the institutions of Srpska in further development and strengthening of their own capacities, said Košarac.
