An exhibition by academic painter Mihajlo Nikolić will open on Monday, June 3, at the National Theater of Republika Srpska, as part of the 26th Theater Fest “Petar Kočić.”
Mihajlo Nikolić was born in Banja Luka in 1976. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka, in 2009, and earned his master’s degree from the Independent University of Banja Luka in 2021.
Nikolić has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions both domestically and internationally and has participated in various international art colonies.
His first solo exhibition was held in Trebinje in 2004.
Nikolić presented his work to the Banja Luka audience in 2010 with the exhibition “Nudes and Space Bulls” in the large exhibition hall of the Cultural Center Banski Dvor. In 2014, he exhibited at the City Gallery in Kotor.
As part of the European Night of Museums 2022, he presented his master’s work at the Homeland Museum of Republika Srpska as part of this event.
Nikolić is also engaged in literary work. He has published two collections of poetry, “The Color of Burnt Rain” and “The White Space of Consciousness,” published by Glas Srpske. His short stories have appeared in literary magazines such as Književnik, Putevi, Krajina, and others. He has also served as the art editor for the magazine Putevi.
He lives and works in Banja Luka and is employed as an assistant professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, Independent University of Banja Luka.
