Minister of Transport and Communications of Republika Srpska, Nedeljko Čubrilović, and the General Director of China Shandong International Economic and Technical Cooperation Group Ltd, Cai Kun, discussed current activities and procedures in implementing joint infrastructure projects, work dynamics, and the next steps regarding the construction of the Banja Luka-Prijedor highway, as well as improving and expanding existing cooperation during a meeting at the company’s headquarters in Jinan.

Both Čubrilović and Cai Kun emphasized the importance of the Banja Luka-Prijedor highway project, noting that this project is of strategic interest for the entire Republika Srpska.

  • “They noted that the project implementation is progressing according to the planned schedule and necessary procedures, and in coordination with the relevant ministry and institutions, necessary activities are being continuously undertaken to ensure the project is completed within the designated timeframe,” stated the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The leadership of Shandong and Minister Čubrilović confirmed the successful cooperation to date, acknowledging that Republika Srpska and China have maintained sincere and friendly relations, and expressed confidence that this successful collaboration will continue not only on existing projects but also on future ones.

Čubrilović also visited Shandong’s headquarters, where he was presented with the company’s history, its most significant projects, and the “smart systems” for highway management. These systems allow for better and more efficient traffic regulation and early warning in case of road obstacles, applied to all 9,000 kilometers of highways managed by the company, aiming to enhance highway safety.

  • “Čubrilović and the General Director of ŽRS, Slađan Jović, also met in Beijing with the leadership of CRSC (China Railway Signal & Communication) to discuss establishing cooperation in railway signaling and telecommunications systems. CRSC’s leadership presented their work and most significant projects, highlighting the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed rail project with the European Train Control System,” the statement added.

The delegation from Republika Srpska visited one of CRSC’s most advanced demonstration laboratories for railway safety devices, where “smart systems” for controlling high-speed trains were presented. Delegations from both sides expressed interest in establishing cooperation in the field of railway signaling and telecommunications in Republika Srpska.

CRSC is one of the world’s largest companies in the field of railway signaling and telecommunications.
