Renowned director Emir Kusturica stated that the latest threats from the US Embassy, asserting that Republika Srpska will cease to exist if it seeks separation, are characteristic of colonizers. However, he emphasized that Republika Srpska will endure.
He highlighted that Republika Srpska has sufficient potential and is peaceful enough to attempt separation, as it is very difficult to imagine living with someone who has accused you of genocide.
Kusturica noted that the resolution on Srebrenica, which refers to “Serbs” in the plural rather than “a Serb committed genocide,” represents a collective condemnation that is not recognized by international law.
“When it is declared that Republika Srpska will not exist, if someone had said that 35 years ago, it might have been possible. But today, the world has changed, we live in completely transformed conditions, and Republika Srpska will survive. The idea of the survival of Republika Srpska is proportional to their efforts to turn back the clock and bring us back to the ’90s, but that is no longer the case. A new hegemon has emerged in China, and Russia has grown into an old-new military power,” emphasized Kusturica.
