Voting for the Srebrenica resolution demonstrates the absurdity and irony of the current situation in which we live, said the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković.
“The most frequent points raised during the session, and highlighted by representatives of most countries, were double standards and the lack of consensus,” Višković stated.
He emphasized that the total of “against” and “abstentions” was greater than those who voted “for.”
“This clearly says everything about the proposer, the hypocrisy, and the double standards. Germany, which gave the introductory speech, is a country everyone knows committed the greatest genocide through the Third Reich, and now, so many years later, they have remembered to correct and cleanse their dark history through the Serb people,” Višković pointed out.
The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska stated that the Serbian people are not genocidal and have never been.
“The Serb people have always fought for their freedom and defended their homes and lives, especially against Germany, which proposed this resolution. Despite all the resolutions, the Serbian people, and most of humanity, know that the Serbs are not genocidal. Similarly, other nations in the world know what Germany is and what they did to other peoples and humanity. This is best shown by the fact that more than half of the UN member states did not support the resolution,” Višković asserted.
He stressed that this resolution cannot erase or forget the greatest genocide in history committed by Germany.
“I cannot say that this will not have consequences; it will have political and possibly some economic consequences. However, we Serbs have always survived and persevered, and we will overcome this as well,” stated the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska.
He expressed special gratitude to all the countries that voted against and abstained.
“I extend my greatest thanks to Serbia and President Vučić, who did everything possible and more, achieving the maximum with his selfless effort and dedication. This is most evident in the fact that more countries were against and abstained,” said Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković in his response after the vote.
