Although the Srebrenica resolution was adopted at the UN General Assembly by changing the rules, 109 countries effectively did not support the resolution. Of the 193 countries with the right to vote, 84 voted “for,” 19 countries voted “against,” and 68 abstained. Additionally, 22 countries did not vote at all. This means that the resolution was supported by 3.1 billion people, opposed by 1.8 billion, and 3.1 billion people abstained. In total, 5.2 billion people worldwide did not support the resolution.
The countries that did not vote at all are: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Belize, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Marshall Islands, Monaco, Morocco, Samoa, Somalia, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Mauritius, Turkmenistan, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Uzbekistan, and Zimbabwe.
