The jubilee 20th May Meetings were held tonight in Prijedor as part of the celebration of the Day of the National Library “Ćirilo i Metodije,” bringing together 15 young authors from Prijedor, Novi Grad, and Dvor.

Poet Anela Sejarić Vujinović, the creator of the event, said that this traditional event supports young people and their creativity.

“The main goal of this event is to animate and support young people to help them in their creative work. We want to be an imperative for their further work, to support and include them in all cultural programs, and to show them that books are not forgotten and that they are ahead of social networks,” Vujinović told reporters.

During the evening, young authors from Prijedor, including Nikolina Milivojša, Nikolina Sredić, Anđela Komosar, Andrej Sredić, Rosana Lazić, and Marija Višekruna, presented their works. Slobodan Drljača and Sandra Bosančić from Novi Grad also participated.

Guest participants included Valentina Milačić, Mile Lisica, and Aleksandra Čvorović from Banja Luka, Irena Stanković and Renata Pavković from Novi Grad, and Ines Kolundžija from Dvor.

The accompanying program featured an exhibition of artworks by Vera Karan, an amateur painter from Prijedor, and musical support from members of the Association for the Preservation of Tradition Prijedor.

The celebration of the Library Day began this morning with the opening of the exhibition “From the Treasure of the Homeland,” dedicated to the local writer Branko Ćopić, marking 40 years since his death.

On the occasion of Library Day, a meeting with writer and journalist Vesna Dedić is scheduled for tomorrow, while on Friday, May 24, there will be an award ceremony for the library’s most loyal readers, visitors to the city reading room, and faithful collaborators of the institution.

On Library Day, May 24, the library offers free membership to its fellow citizens.
