President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić stated that the resolution on Srebrenica is a political act and emphasized that, regardless of the decision made in New York, it will neither abolish Republika Srpska nor destroy Serbia, despite the wishes of the proponents.

“Even when they adopt the resolution, I will not give up the fight for national interests and against the resolution because they cannot explain to me why they are doing it and what the purpose is. Since it is not about paying respect to the victims, what is the purpose and goal? Is it, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers Elmedin Konaković said, about revising the lawsuit against Serbia? Or is it also about war reparations?” Vučić asked.

He did not want to speculate on the number of countries that will vote for the proposed resolution, noting that the pressures from the powerful Western powers on certain small countries are strong and that in seven days, when the vote is scheduled, the result for Serbia will be less favorable than it is today.

Vučić emphasized that the intention behind the resolution on Srebrenica is not to pay tribute to the victims, but that it is a “political declaration and a decision to brand an entire nation.”

He told reporters in Kotor that the idea to adopt a resolution on Jasenovac in the Montenegrin parliament is a good one and that Serbia will support it.

Regarding the ban on entry of His Holiness Serb Patriarch Porfirije to the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, Vučić said that it shows how human rights are respected in Kosovo and Metohija.

He announced that he would receive Patriarch Porfirije and participants of the Holy Assembly of Bishops tomorrow.

Commenting on Pristina’s announcement that it will present its draft of the Community of Serb Municipalities by the end of May, Vučić stated that it is a trick by Albin Kurti and the English who strongly support them.
