The National Library in Mrkonjić Grad has opened the fifth “Comic Strip Exhibition of Srpska,” showcasing works by 20 authors from Republika Srpska.

The exhibition features artists associated with the Comic Strip and Enthusiasts Association “Ninth Dimension” from Banja Luka.

During the opening, it was emphasized that the comic strip scene in Republika Srpska has a promising future, as the membership of “Ninth Dimension” is growing and rejuvenating.

Zoran Pejić, president of the association, highlighted that the aim of the exhibition is to encourage young artists in Mrkonjić Grad.

“In our town, there is a drawing workshop with three young comic strip authors who have participated in all the exhibitions in recent years,” Pejić added.

Following the promotion of the exhibition and the association’s work, Zdravko Knežević, editor of the magazine “Parabellum Junior,” conducted a workshop for young people. The workshop demonstrated how a comic strip begins and ends, how to create their own comic book hero, and how to transition from one page to another in a comic strip.

The “Ninth Dimension” association has been promoting comic strips for 15 years, recently focusing on presenting historical heritage. They have published 65 titles so far, with the latest being “Comic Stories,” featuring 22 stories by Branko Ćopić.
