The fourth International Athletic Meeting “Banja Luka Trophy,” also known as the Tijana Gligić Kosić Memorial, was held today at the City Stadium in Banja Luka.
At the meeting, organized in honor of Tijana Gligić Kosić, former athlete of Banja Luka’s Borac, Red Star, and representative of Yugoslavia and BiH, about 100 competitors from the region participated. In the memorial race, at 400 meters hurdles, Andrea Prvanović from Zemun emerged victorious.
The most notable result at the competition was achieved by Red Star athlete Milica Tomašević. She triumphed in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 4 minutes, 26 seconds, and 83 hundredths, as reported by RTRS.
Also interesting was the 800-meter race, won by Jovan Rosić. The Borac athlete is preparing for the Balkan Championship, scheduled for late May in the Turkish city of Izmir.
The meeting is listed in the calendar of the European Athletics Federation. Organizers announce that next year they will attempt to gather even more athletes from the region, as well as from Europe.
