The President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, met today in Banja Luka with a delegation from the Senate of the French Republic, led by Marta de Cidrac, the Chair of the France-Balkan Friendship Group.

During the meeting, Stevandić informed the counterparts about the political situation in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the European integration process. He added that Republika Srpska advocates for the respect of the constitutional order in BiH and that BiH can only function if decisions are made with the consent of both entities and all three constitutive peoples.

The President of the National Assembly stated that Republika Srpska rejects any external interventionism and anti-Dayton activities of the unelected High Representative. He also confirmed that Republika Srpska is committed to European principles and makes all decisions in accordance with the Constitution and laws, and cannot accept any arbitrary, illegal, and unconstitutional actions.

In addition to Senator de Cidrac, the French Senate delegation included Senators Didier Mandelli and Laurence Arribagé, advisor and executive secretary of the mentioned group Guillaume Renoudin, and the Ambassador of the French Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina, His Excellency François Delmas.
