The adoption of the Srebrenica resolution in the UN General Assembly will be a death sentence for Bosnia and Herzegovina as a possible community, stated the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, on RTRS.

“We essentially need to do nothing but defend our functional jurisdiction. We are not preparing for war, but we understand that some individuals do not think the same way,” Dodik emphasized.

He pointed out that “a serious blow to the Serb people is occurring, and if that resolution is adopted, we must develop our national strategy to get out of this situation.”

“This involves joint action by Serbs from Srpska, Serbia, and wherever they may be. We will adapt to the new circumstances, as we see no way to build a common life with the Bosniaks after this,” Dodik told RTRS.

He added that Bosnia and Herzegovina was “marked” during the previous war, but now there is a clear entity line that has been defended in previous gatherings.

“We have enough strength to maintain our subjectivity and even independence. What we are doing in political terms is a desperate fight for what we have, for our rights, which are all under attack. Our policy is responsible, national, and state policy for Srpska. Our policy is not a Bosnian-Herzegovinian policy, we are not Bosnian-Herzegovinian patriots. For example, I am a Serb patriot,” stated Dodik.

Speaking to ATV, he said, “we are not yet sure whether the Srebrenica resolution will pass, but if it does, the situation will be completely unclear.”

“If there are more countries that are against or abstaining in the General Assembly than those voting for it, then it is not a credible story,” the President of the Republic of Srpska said.

Commenting on the fact that the Bosniaks have already calculated that the resolution will pass, Dodik says they have been acting this way from the beginning.

“They accuse us of destroying the Dayton Peace Agreement while their Muslim ambassador, beyond Dayton and the Constitution, initiated this proposal outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is not a destruction of the Constitution and Dayton, only what the Republika Srpska and Milorad Dodik do is a priori a destruction of Dayton, according to their interpretation. In the end, the Muslim side never even agreed to adopt the Dayton Agreement in the Parliament and now they defend it so fiercely. They defend it to destroy it, not to maintain it – that is the key issue of almost all relations all this time. That’s why they had the concept of the European path in which they thought they would gain much more centralization but now it turns out that it cannot be done that way,” Dodik said.
