The Mayor of Pale, Boško Jugović, and the contractor “Eko euro tim” from Banja Luka, have signed contracts today for the construction of the main sewage collector and primary sewage network on Jahorina, totaling over three million KM in value.
Jugović told reporters that this marks a significant moment for this year’s investments, thanks to funds provided by the Republic of Srpska’s Ministry of Finance through a loan arrangement with the European Investment Bank.
He detailed that the projects include building the main sewage collector from the new road to Jahorina up to the “Mladost” hotel on the mountain, valued at 1,343,360 KM excluding VAT, and the construction of the primary sewage network for the “Dvorišta” Tourist-Sports Center, valued at 1,940,000 KM excluding VAT.
Jugović added that the construction period is set for eight months, hoping for completion even sooner since all necessary construction permits are in place and the contractor has a reputable history of managing such projects.
“This initiative contributes significantly to the complete tourist complex of Jahorina and Dvorišta, and in a year when securing investments has been challenging, we are closing the cycle with about four million KM including VAT,” Jugović highlighted. “All funds will come from the loan arrangement which the municipality of Pale will repay, partly from grants, and partly from the municipality’s own funds.”
He also noted that these projects, among other investments in Jahorina’s infrastructure, demonstrate that they are a responsible local community attentive to the needs of those working on the mountain.
Jugović also mentioned their focus on the “Dvorišta” Tourist-Sports Center in the municipality of Pale, anticipating an expansion of tourist facilities in the area.
Zoran Vučenović, the representative of “Eko euro tim,” which will carry out the construction works on Jahorina, stated that they have signed two valuable contracts amidst a tough economic climate where there is less work available.
“Due to the tourist season and winter period, we need to work on both projects simultaneously. We shouldn’t encounter problems as we have experience with similar and the same types of projects,” Vučenović emphasized.
The construction is expected to start after the holidays with an eight-month completion deadline.
