Siniša Berjan, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to China, has stated that no ambassador can place themselves above BiH and initiate a resolution on Srebrenica in the UN General Assembly without the consent of the Presidency of BiH, under the mentorship of Bosniak political elites and parts of the international community.

Speaking to Srna, Berjan described the imposition of this resolution as an act of legal violence and a blatant violation of the BiH Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement, usurping powers as the tripartite Presidency of BiH had not deliberated on the imposed resolution although it is the institution charged with foreign policy.

“It is quite clear that this is a carefully planned and orchestrated process aimed against the Serbian people. Why is there no mention of over 3,000 Serb victims from the same area, why is this silenced? This resolution, proposed for adoption in the UN General Assembly nearly 30 years after the end of the war, will not bring any good to the already fragile BiH. On the contrary, it will deepen the rift between the constituent peoples, especially Serbs and Bosniaks,” emphasized Berjan.

He highlighted that the suffering and freedom-loving Serb people will never accept the labels and qualifications that the Bosniak side, in collaboration with some global power centers, tries to impose.

“As a response, our unity and the mobilization of all available resources are necessary to politically counter the countries seeking the adoption of this resolution,” Berjan stated.

The Bosniak part of the BiH mission at the UN unilaterally initiated this new resolution on Srebrenica in the General Assembly of the UN, without a decision from the Presidency of BiH, sponsored by some Western countries. Previously, nine years ago, Russia had vetoed a British resolution on Srebrenica in the UN Security Council.

The Independent International Commission for the Investigation of the Suffering of All Peoples in the Srebrenica Region from 1992 to 1995 concluded that no act of genocide, whether singular or in general, occurred in Srebrenica. The commission, consisting of 10 global experts, determined that the Serbs never had such a plan either in Srebrenica or anywhere else.
