Member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska from the NPS party, Darko Banjac, stated that destabilization began when Christian Schmidt arrived in BiH without a United Nations Security Council resolution, thereby violating the Dayton Peace Agreement. He asserted that Milorad Dodik, the President of Republika Srpska, is not to blame for the political crisis.

Responding to a statement from the US Embassy which suggests that local political leaders, particularly the President of Republika Srpska, are to blame for the crisis in BiH, Banjac questioned why there is an effort to push a resolution on Srebrenica that brings national unrest within BiH.

Banjac emphasized that there was no genocide in Srebrenica, which is a response to the resolution being pushed into the UN General Assembly by Germany and Rwanda, especially Germany which committed massive crimes during World War II.

“The focus of everything is because the US and some EU countries claim that we, or rather President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, are the main culprit. I ask why you are pushing the resolution and introducing national unrest within BiH, especially when it concerns Serbs who suffered so much during World War II,” Banjac told Srna.

According to him, the US Embassy by its actions prevents local politicians from reaching agreements, thus destabilizing the entire region.

He believes that the EU is lost, while Republika Srpska again tries to negotiate, despite the initiated resolution on Srebrenica, imposed amendments to the Election Law by a tourist Schmidt, and claims that property does not belong to the entities.

“We are always trying to negotiate, to stabilize this area and come to an agreement with partners from the Federation, and when we reach some agreement, they interfere and of course, then there is no agreement,” concluded Banjac.
