Lazar Stjepanović, legal representative of Republika Srpska, told RTRS that the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina are attempting to portray the proceedings against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette of Srpska, Miloš Lukić, as judicial, although it is clear to everyone that this is a political process.

Stjepanović commented to RTRS that this trial is against Republika Srpska itself.

“Here, they prosecute anyone who respects the Constitution and the Dayton Agreement, sending a message that they will prosecute anyone who disagrees with foreign interests and decisions. They are telling us that anyone of us will be prosecuted if we do not comply with foreign interests and structures, and that the Court and Prosecutor’s Office are not our institutions, but instruments in the hands of those structures,” he highlighted.

Stjepanović noted that today’s hearing is expected to continue with the presentation of evidence and examination of witnesses.

Speaking about tomorrow’s special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, which will discuss the Report of the Independent International Commission for the Investigation of the Suffering of All Peoples in the Srebrenica Region, the Proposal for the Election Law, and the Proposal for the Law on Referendum and Civic Initiative, Stjepanović said these are very important items that should be unified.

Reminder: Today, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue the trial of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette of Srpska, Miloš Lukić, for non-compliance with the decisions of Christian Schmidt.
