The resolution on Srebrenica is not a call for coexistence but for an urgent separation, was the message after the meeting of the ruling coalition in Republika Srpska. Therefore, they support the “Srpska Calls” rally scheduled for Thursday, April 18th at 6:00 PM in Banja Luka. This, they say, is not support for political structures, but for Republika Srpska and the Serb people. If the resolution is adopted by the United Nations, Republika Srpska will swiftly move towards its independence, announced Milorad Dodik, the President of Republika Srpska and leader of the SNSD party.

In three days, the National Assembly will discuss the report from the International Commission on events in the Srebrenica region from 1992 to 1995. The Proposed Election Law of Republika Srpska is also on the agenda.

After the meeting of the ruling coalition, leaders of political parties unanimously opposed the Srebrenica resolution and supported the announced “Srpska Calls” rally. They call on citizens to come to Banja Luka on Thursday at 6 PM and together clearly state that they reject foreign impositions and loudly say NO to those threatening Republika Srpska and the Serb people. The Bosniak political elite is mistaken if it believes that the resolution on Srebrenica ensures coexistence, says President Dodik.

The resolution on Srebrenica is legally invalid and non-binding, but it leads to unforeseeable consequences, agree the ruling coalition. It arrives amid pressures on Republika Srpska and Serbia and coincides with another significant date—asking whether it is a coincidence.

“The resolution comes in the month when Jasenovac was liberated,” states Petar Đokić, leader of the SP party.

The upcoming session of the Republika Srpska National Assembly will likely adopt the report from the International Commission, which has documented the suffering of the Serb population in the area, and the Proposed Election Law of Republika Srpska, thus sending a “stop” to foreign interventionism and the usurpation of Republika Srpska’s competencies.

Nenad Stevandić, President of the National Assembly and leader of the United Srpska party, noted that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska has always passed acts reflecting the will of its people, grounded on principles and legal acts.

The adoption of the Election Law will send a message to the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina that it has no authority in Republika Srpska. If it breaches this, Republika Srpska has a response.

“If the CEC attempts this, it will be prevented. If the Prosecutor’s Office and Court try to act, their operation will be banned,” states Dodik.

Darko Banjac, leader of the NPS, pointed out that the Election Law of Republika Srpska, the Constitution of democracy, and fundamental democratic principles which will be adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska are in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution.

Those who have not respected either the Constitution or democracy include the current American ambassador Michael Murphy, who, according to Dodik, is leaving his post in Bosnia and Herzegovina in two months.

“They are pulling him out a month early because he caused total chaos in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” says Dodik.

The ruling coalition emphasizes that everything Republika Srpska does is through political means. It calls on no one, accuses no one, nor provokes anyone. They say, if anyone is provoked, it is Republika Srpska, following the imposition of laws, trials, and sanctions against officials, attempts to seize property, and the adoption of the resolution on Srebrenica.
