The adoption of the Srebrenica resolution in the UN General Assembly will not bring any good to Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated Serbian journalist Ljiljana Smailović, appearing on the Morning Program of RTRS.

“Serbia has recognized this as its vital national interest and it can be of assistance to the Republika Srpska in this matter,” said Smailović.

She argues that this resolution is an attempt to falsify history. “This resolution demands that all countries protect in their educational systems the establishment of the fact, knowing that the Hague Tribunal conducted deeply selective justice and was at least biased. This is one of the reasons why we must oppose the resolution,” Smailović emphasized.

She highlighted that abstention by a large number of countries in the voting would be a victory for the Republika Srpska and Serbia.

“This resolution is a way for the great powers to cleanse their conscience. It is hypocritical to talk about Srebrenica today while civilians, including children, are dying almost every hour in Gaza. Yet from the same you can hear that Israel has the right to defense,” claimed Smailović.

Smailović pointed out that the resolution on Srebrenica is not the only thing complicating the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Christian Schmidt also introduces discord into Bosnia and Herzegovina, doing so consciously and intentionally. We have someone whose arrival in Sarajevo represents a violation of international regulations, and of course, it complicates the situation. It is scandalous that the position of the High Representative even exists,” concluded Ljiljana Smailović.
