An evening dedicated to the writers of Romanija, as part of an event to recall the life and work of the eminent Rogatica native, writer, and academic Vojislav Lubarda, gathered literary figures from East Sarajevo, Sokolac, Pale, Han Pijesak, and Rogatica.

The event took place on Tuesday evening in Rogatica, organized by the East Sarajevo branch of the Writers’ Association of the Republika Srpska and the “Vojislav Lubarda” Public Library.

Poets read poems dedicated to the broader homeland of Vojislav Lubarda, Romanija. Lovers of the written word were addressed by Slobodan Ristović and Milun-Mišo Lubarda from Rogatica, the doyen of poetry from Sokolac Radislav Ćivša and Milutin Savčić, Aćim Todorović from Han Pijesak, Brane Ilić from Pale, and Marijana Petronić who lives in East Sarajevo.

Aćim Todorović premiered his poem in Rogatica about the massacre of 6,000 Serbs from Olovo, parts of Sarajevo, Kladanj, Han Pijesak, Zvornik, Pale, Romanija and Sokolac, Gorazde, Rogatica, and from the Borić highlands in Stari Brod and neighboring Miloševići, in mid-March of the war year 1942 by the infamous Ustasha “Black Legion” led by the criminal Jure Francetić.
