The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, stated that the institutions of Srpska will respond to attempts to eliminate the President of the Republic, Milorad Dodik, from political life, which is the essence and point of the imposed amendments to the Electoral Law of BiH.
Višković mentioned that the institutions of Srpska have seen through this subterfuge and will react accordingly.
He emphasized that even if Christian Šmit were legal, he absolutely has no authority to make and impose laws, especially provisions that foresee banning certain professions, activities, and duties for elected political figures.
Višković pointed out that Šmit’s imposed provisions clearly aim at banning actions directed towards Dodik in the context of potential court judgments in this area.
“This was not stated in the existing law. But Šmit, who is a lackey of known embassies, had to do this so everything would follow in sequence,” said Višković for ATV.
He mentioned that adopting the Electoral Law of Srpska will be a response to Šmit’s imposition, as elected political representatives must always be allowed to make sovereign decisions in BiH’s democratic process without external influence.
“Our proposed law resolves the election of all authorities related to Srpska, and everything will be conducted by the Republic Electoral Commission. Only the election of the Serbian member of the Presidency and representatives in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH remains for the Central Electoral Commission of BiH,” Višković stated, adding that all of this is based on constitutional grounds.
He added that the imposed amendments to the Electoral Law of BiH by the unelected Šmit show that BiH is not a sovereign or democratic country but is under colonial administration.
“Such powers were not even seized by the greatest colonialists, kings, princes, and emperors. It seems that tourist Šmit finds it important to maintain tensions here so he can stay for the next 50 years and receive disproportionately large salaries,” Višković noted.
The Prime Minister of Srpska pointed out that Šmit’s impositions harm BiH’s European path and expects a reaction from the EU and the Head of the EU Delegation in BiH, Johann Sattler.
Višković emphasized that Srpska probably played the most crucial role in BiH’s European journey and criticized the inappropriate statements by political representatives in Sarajevo who attribute this merit to themselves while welcoming Šmit’s impositions, who acts on the decisions of the US Embassy in BiH.
He stated that the objections of Croatian representatives in BiH to Šmit’s imposition show that undermining internal agreements among political leaders on all issues is the wrong path, adding that Srpska has solutions in terms of protecting the interests of every citizen.
