The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, stated that the essence of the recent imposition of amendments to the Electoral Law by Christian Šmit is to eliminate the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, from the political life of BiH.

Višković mentioned that this intention is clearly visible from Article 8 of the law.

“These sad, pitiful, undemocratic, and uncivilized amendments to the Electoral Law have only one message and one decision in terms of eliminating the President of Republika Srpska, named Milorad Dodik, from the political life of BiH, and that is the point of the entire story,” Višković said.

Višković pointed out two points from Article 8 that Šmit added, namely point five, which states: “From the day of the final court verdict by which a security measure of prohibition of performing a certain profession, activity, or duty that represents the function of an elected member in an authority body is pronounced,” and point six, which states: “From the day of the final court verdict by which a sentence is pronounced that has the legal consequence of ending that official duty and that employment relationship.”

“This was done because of the President of Republika Srpska and the rush for a court verdict that will be in this context. However, the existing law did not state it like this, and this minion of someone’s orders, and we know whose, which embassy, had to do this to have some sequence,” emphasized Višković.

Višković said that all this is slightly wrapped in cellophane for the public “so the Serbs wouldn’t catch on.”

“However, the Serbs immediately caught on, and these deceptions and underhand tactics must not be accepted by the institutions of Republika Srpska under any circumstances,” Višković stated.
