The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, today spoke with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon.

On this occasion, the Serb member of the BiH Presidency expressed gratitude for Slovenia’s support on BiH’s European path, as well as for advocating the opening of negotiations for EU membership.

She emphasized that the initiation of negotiations is an additional encouragement and stimulus for strengthening the dialogue and agreement of all relevant institutions in BiH and domestic political actors with the goal of continuing the implementation of reform processes.

Minister Fajon, during the conversation, expressed satisfaction with the progress BiH has made by opening negotiations with the EU, stating that it is a positive message and motivation for joint work on meeting the conditions and priorities on BiH’s reform path.

She mentioned that this is an important moment for BiH, as well as for the EU.

Fajon reiterated the support of the Republic of Slovenia for the reform and integration processes in BiH, as well as readiness to provide technical assistance on this path.

During the meeting, the interlocutors also discussed further steps in the negotiation process of BiH with the EU, as well as bilateral relations between BiH and the EU, which were assessed as friendly and without open issues, with possibilities for their further improvement.
