President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that Russians and Serbs are united by their faith and the preservation of identity, emphasizing that Serbs will always side with Russia and that the West cannot change this position.

“Serbs and Russians are close to each other thanks to the Orthodox faith, as well as the preservation of their own identity,” said Dodik for the documentary film “Belgrade,” which was produced by the General Director of TASS, Andrey Kondrashov, for Russia One TV, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the NATO aggression against FR Yugoslavia.

He stressed his belief that the Orthodox faith fundamentally forms even the genetic code of the Serbian and Russian peoples.

“We have always found in Orthodoxy a reason to return to our identity, that is, its preservation. We have never renounced our faith, our language, script, character, essence primarily. Once you lose all that, it will be easy for others to deal with you,” Dodik stated.

He pointed out that history has literally played games with the Serbs, and to a significant extent with the Russians as well.

“We have always faced challenges and never had the fortune of being left alone by others,” highlighted Dodik.

He reiterated that Serbs will always stand by Russia and that the West cannot change their position.

“Russia might even make a mistake, do something that is not right, but Serbs will always stand by its side,” Dodik conveyed.

The world premiere of the documentary film “Belgrade” will be held tonight at the Russian House, exactly 25 years after the first bombs of the aggressor fell on Serb soil.
