The external construction works of the Serb-Russian Temple in Banja Luka are expected to be completed by the end of this year, meaning the building will be roofed.
This temple, being constructed in the style of ancient Russian church architecture, is progressing as planned, according to the Serb Orthodox Church community in Banja Luka.
The Serb-Russian Temple and the spiritual-cultural center in Banja Luka are being built in honor of the Romanov family.
The prototype for the future temple was chosen to be the former Temple of the Miracle of Archangel Michael, built in 1358, which was located in the Kremlin and was demolished following the October Revolution.
The foundations of the temple were consecrated on September 17, 2018.
The President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, formalized the construction a year earlier, and on that occasion, he hosted Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, in Banja Luka.
