Delegate in the Club of Serbs in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Radovan Kovačević, stated that the opening of EU negotiations with BiH represents a significant triumph for Republika Srpska.

“This is a major triumph for the policy of Republika Srpska, which insists on the acceptance of the Dayton Agreement, the Constitution, and the Constitutional structure,” said Kovačević.

He emphasized that BiH has been on the European path for decades.

“We have succeeded. Within a year, we obtained candidate status, and now the negotiations are opening,” highlighted Kovačević.

He mentioned that this is great news for the citizens.

“Also, all these advancements and positive steps were achieved in the manner we have always stated BiH should function,” Kovačević pointed out.

He stressed that everything was accomplished through the agreement of key internal factors in BiH, representatives of the three equal constituent peoples and two entities.

“From the European Commission, we heard an important statement, which is that BiH has made more progress in the last year than in the previous ten years,” Kovačević emphasized.

He says this is also an opportunity to send a message to Christian Schmidt.

“It’s high time for Christian Schmidt to go home. There is no place for him in a country that has opened negotiations with the European Union,” Kovačević was clear.
