The decision of the European Council is important because according to EU criteria, a state must demonstrate democratic capacity, as this process belongs to elected bodies, not unelected foreigners, emphasized the Serb member of the Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, at a press conference.

“This excludes any individual who imposes any decisions,” Cvijanović was clear.

She stated that this decision also excludes foreign interventionism.

  • “And this pertains to the Constitutional Court of BiH,” said Cvijanović.

She highlighted that there is a joint effort here.

“They can say whatever they want, but without the Republika Srpska, this wouldn’t have happened, as even the European Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi recently admitted,” she emphasized.

She stressed that they want to see a negotiation process, not a deceptive one.

  • “And that means there are no impositions from the side. A major obstacle on our European path lies in the OHR, but also in the PIC,” said Cvijanović.
