The manifestation of unity at the grand Easter gathering of Serbia and Republika Srpska will contribute to strengthening the national self-confidence of the Serbs, stated historian Aleksandar Raković.
Raković emphasized that the decision to hold a grand Easter gathering of Serbia and Republika Srpska in May, made with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije by Presidents Aleksandar Vučić and Milorad Dodik, is very good.
He mentioned that support should be given to everything that represents the unity of the Serb people, their unity and unification, adding that the decision to hold the Easter gathering is in that spirit.
“Everything that leads to protecting the identity of the Serb people, to keep Serbs on their hearths, and to preserve Cyrillic, Serbian Orthodoxy, and other elements of the Serb people’s identity is very important. It contributes to strengthening the self-confidence of the Serb people,” said Raković for Srna.
Raković stated that it is very significant for him to see Patriarch Porfirije and Presidents Vučić and Dodik together.
“The Serb people, when they see the three of them together, see unity and concord. It is good that they have made this decision about holding the gathering in May together,” said Raković.
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik at yesterday’s meeting, which was attended by His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije, adopted a conclusion to hold a grand Easter gathering of Serbia and Republika Srpska on May 5 and 6 in Belgrade and other parts of Serbia.
It is announced that the Gathering will make important decisions on the survival of the Serb people on their hearths, their economic progress, the preservation of the Serbian language and Cyrillic script, and the joint cultural heritage.
The new Government of Serbia and the Government of Republika Srpska will prepare a declaration and possible other legal acts, which will be submitted for adoption to the national assemblies in the same text.
