Željka Cvijanović, the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, met yesterday on the sidelines of the 11th Baku Global Forum with the President of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Denis Francis, whom she informed about the positions and stance of Republika Srpska regarding the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the conversation, Cvijanović emphasized the commitment of the institutions of Republika Srpska and its representatives to the European path, with consistent respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She highlighted that dialogue and agreement among democratically elected representatives of the people are of fundamental importance for the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She pointed out that foreign interventionism and the imposition of decisions by unelected representatives of the international community are not in line with democratic principles and the rule of law, and do not contribute to preserving the political and institutional stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Regarding the presentation of a new Resolution on Srebrenica, the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina informed the President of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly that the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina was not consulted on this issue, stating that any such activities are considered unilateral actions.
On this occasion, the interlocutors exchanged views on other current topics and shared directions for action aimed at sustainable progress in the country and beyond, as well as overcoming the global challenges faced by the modern world.
