Only the USA and their allies can produce conflict in the Balkans, no one else, said the Dean of the Faculty of Security and Protection at the Independent University in Banja Luka, Slobodan Župljanin.
Župljanin emphasized that the peoples of the Balkans, especially the Serbs and Republika Srpska, are committed to peace and stability, and that the negative assessments of those who claim that Serbs and the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, are a threat to this, are malicious.
He believes that the actual goal of foreigners is to open new hotspots in the Balkans, and therefore, political elites and peoples must recognize and prevent any attempts to implement such a scenario.
“Dodik and the Serbs are the ones calling for dialogue and the resolution of open issues, through agreement between the two entities and three constituent peoples, without foreign interference,” Župljanin reminded Srna.
According to him, there is no capacity in the Balkans to initiate armed conflicts or incidents.
“The peoples and political elites do not want this. The intentions of the USA are recognized,” said Župljanin.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence in the USA mentioned in its annual report that “the Western Balkans will likely face an increased risk of localized interethnic violence during 2024.”
