The Association of Veterans of Special Units of the Army of the Republika Srpska is asking the Brčko police to ban the announced parade on March 1st, because, they say, the emblems of the so-called Army of BiH would jeopardize interethnic relations in the city.
- We have information about the arrival of fan groups and extremist elements, especially concerning Sanin Musa, who was a member of the El Mujahid unit during the war. The El Mujahid unit committed the most heinous crimes in the territory of Vozuća against the Serbian people – said the president of the “Garda Panthers” Association, Petar Cvijetinović.

- We remain firm in our appeal to the Brčko District police to prevent the parade from passing through Brčko city – says Radivoje Đukić, president of the “Peša” Veterans Association from Brčko.
Many in Brčko consider this type of parade with wartime flags a provocation, especially since the district is a multi-ethnic environment.

The President of the Brčko District Assembly, Siniša Milić, has appealed for maximum restraint regarding the announced parade of vehicles through Brčko on March 1st.
- At this moment, tensions benefit those the most who want to portray Brčko as an unstable city, a neuralgic point, specifically with the aim of stationing EUFOR troops or other military forces here. The same people want the parade banned so that tomorrow the celebration of the Day of the Republic of Srpska could be banned – said Siniša Milić, the President of the Brčko District Assembly.
Unofficially, it is learned that no Bosniak organization in Brčko supports the holding of the parade.
Those who perceive March 1st as Independence Day will commemorate it as before, by laying wreaths at memorials, and through cultural and sports content.
