The purpose of my trip to Antalya for the Economic Forum, sponsored by the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is to strengthen cooperation with partners and continue economic activity, said the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, on tv show Telering.
“The point is to strengthen partnerships and explain the current situation,” Dodik stated.
He emphasized that he will try to clarify issues existing in BiH in Turkey.
“Among which the most obvious problem is that the ambassador previously proposed by the Bosniaks was not accepted in Turkey. A procedure was abused by the Bosniak member of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović. He proposed someone whom the Turkish side could not accept, leading us to the point where we have to explain ourselves,” Dodik mentioned.
He highlighted that economic issues would also be discussed.
“We are trying to rehabilitate the problem of the Sarajevo-Tuzla highway. The Turkish side has already done a lot, but in the Federation, the perpetual problem is that they cannot agree on road routes. When we talked about Corridor 5C, my idea was to go from Banja Luka to Tuzla. We would quickly complete the part that passes through Republika Srpska, but if they cannot agree in the Federation, it is not up to us,” Dodik explained.
He notes that the area from Doboj to Tuzla has become very lively.
“And I think it should be a primary interest to provide a fast road. Republika Srpska has more modest potentials, we still have about 150 kilometers of highway to work on,” says Dodik.
In March, Dodik travels to Vienna to the diplomatic academy where he will give a lecture on the situation in BiH. After that, he is in France, where he will meet with parliamentary institutions, ministers, and the French envoy for BiH.
He says the arrival of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Banja Luka has been postponed due to his obligations in the USA, but he expects the arrival date to be specified soon.
