President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik has stated that BRICS is interesting for Serbs and expressed hope that Republika Srpska will have the opportunity to obtain observer status in this organization in the future.
Dodik explained that BRICS proposes a new format of cooperation among states and peoples, opens up new markets, ideas, and access to advanced technologies from other parts of the world, which makes it appealing to Serbs.
In an interview with a Russian newspaper, Dodik mentioned that there is a stereotype in the West towards BRICS, supported by the Bosniaks, Western allies in Sarajevo, who veto initiatives important to Republika Srpska.
He emphasized that Republika Srpska is committed to developing relations with the Russian Federation in the fields of economy, trade, education, and science, as well as technology exchange, while the Bosniaks fear disappointing their mentors and patrons – the Americans and the British.
Dodik stated that he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, and other Russian politicians in Kazan.
“We strive to preserve and strengthen good bilateral relations,” Dodik added.
Regarding what Anglo-Saxons are prepared to do to remove him as the president of Republika Srpska from the political scene in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik said that they are prepared to do anything, as they demonstrate, and that the West, through a colonial inquisitorial court without constitutional basis in Bosnia and Herzegovina, tries to judge a legally elected representative of the Serbian people.
“They want to discipline me and force me to fulfill their demands. Of course, that will not succeed. This is not happening for the first time,” Dodik emphasized.
He pointed out that for many years he has been fighting against Western attempts to abolish Republika Srpska and centralize Bosnia and Herzegovina, which does not serve Serbian national interests.
“That would not be good for other peoples either. This is only the interest of colonizers who want to independently manage Bosnia and Herzegovina, to use legally elected representatives of the people as puppets and decorations,” Dodik added.
The President of Republika Srpska also addressed the issue of migrants, stating that it remains to be seen how the EU will cope with this challenge.
He said that Republika Srpska wants to maintain security in its territory, protect it from radical movements and their terrorist activities, noting that among migrants there are also radical elements, and Republika Srpska strives to identify them and prevent their potential activities.
When asked about the Games of the Future, which started in Kazan, the President of Republika Srpska said that it is a huge success for Russia, which managed to attract more than 2,000 athletes from over 100 countries to completely new competitions.
He emphasized that there should be no political disqualification in sports and that it is difficult to organize major events without political support.
“Fidgetal sport is a new format that definitively represents the games of the future. It is an opportunity for Russia to show that it is ready and capable of presenting an innovative approach even in sports,” Dodik added.
Regarding how the Serbian people will accept Moscow’s symbolic gesture to erect a monument to Alexander I Karađorđević, Dodik assessed that Serbs will support that idea, noting that Serbian national history has long been burdened with silence about the role of national leaders, including during the occupation of communist authorities.
