Judoka of the Judo Club “Leotar,” Božidar Vučurević, has been declared the best athlete of the city of Trebinje for the year 2023, and the best sports team is the Handball Club “Leotar,” as decided at tonight’s event “Selection of the Best Athlete of Trebinje.”
Members of the Athletic Club “Leotar,” Marko Šuković and Diana Kovač, secured third place in the individual competition, while a member of the Handball Club “Leotar,” Đorđe Ratković, won second place.
The second place in the sports clubs category was awarded to the Basketball Club “Leotar” and the Judo Club “Leotar,” and the third place went to the Athletic Club “Leotar” and the Athletic Club “Trebinje.”
Vučurević expressed that such awards mean a lot to him due to the effort invested, and he extended his greatest thanks to his sparring partners and colleagues from the club.
Promising athletes were also selected, and special recognitions for achievements in sports were awarded.
The Mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić, stated tonight that Trebinje’s candidacy for the European City of Sport for 2025 has been accepted, highlighting that athletes from Trebinje are the best ambassadors of the city.
The event “Selection of the Best Athlete of Trebinje for 2023” was organized by the city of Trebinje, the public institution “Trebinje Sport,” and “Glas Trebinje.”
