The Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, told Srna that Bosniaks have the right to celebrate their dates, but they do not have the right for it to be directed against citizens of Serb or Croat nationality, or against Republika Srpska.

“Banja Luka, in its love for Republika Srpska, does not contain hatred towards Bosnia and Herzegovina, but in Sarajevo, love for Bosnia and Herzegovina contains hatred towards Republika Srpska, and that is the basic problem of our mutual understanding,” said Stevandić, referring to the call by former member of the “El Mujahideen” detachment, Sanin Musa, for a parade of cars with wartime flags on March 1st, which is celebrated as “Bosnia and Herzegovina Independence Day” in part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Stevandić reminded that on January 9th, not a single member of another nationality was disturbed, but all Bosniaks and Croats and all people felt excellent.

“As for their desire to celebrate their dates that we do not recognize or agree with, they have the right to do so, only they do not have the right for it to be directed against citizens of Serb nationality, Croat, or against Republika Srpska,” Stevandić emphasized.

He added that this is also the basic problem in the perception created in Banja Luka and Sarajevo.

Musa wrote on Facebook that the parade on March 1st should include as many cars as possible from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its patriots, and as many flags with lilies as possible.

He had previously called his supporters to gather in front of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina when a hearing was to be held in the case against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, with the aim of banning the assembly of people supporting the President of Srpska.
