Last night, the “Konstantin Babić” School for Primary and Secondary Music Education in Prnjavor celebrated its School Day with an appropriate concert and the awarding of recognitions to 69 of the most successful students and 16 teachers from the last school year.

The ceremony, held in the concert hall of the Music School, was attended by, among others, the Minister for European Integration and International Cooperation of the Government of Republika Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska, and the Republic Pedagogical Institute.

The school director, Tina Raković, said that every year on the anniversary of composer Babić’s birth, they organize a concert where students present what they have learned to parents and numerous guests.

“We awarded 69 students and 16 professors who achieved excellent results in competitions last school year. We also thank all the professors who did not participate in competitions but contributed to the quality of the school’s work and our students through their activities,” Raković told Srna.

She mentioned that the students of the Music School continue to work diligently as the second semester approaches, filled with a large number of republic and international competitions.

The accordion professor, Ljubiša Samardžija, evaluated that the students of this course successfully presented themselves at tonight’s event.

“The applause at the end of the performance is our greatest reward. The accordion is a very popular instrument. We always fill the planned quota for enrollment in primary music school, and we are also satisfied with the response from high school students,” Samardžija told Srna.
