Auditions for the children’s and youth music festival “Rhythm of Europe” will begin at the end of March or the beginning of April, involving 22 local communities from Republika Srpska, confirmed today in Prnjavor by the program director Igor Karadarević.

Karadarević noted that the competition involves young people aged 14 to 21, motivated by the opportunity to perform on RTRS, substantial investments in the stage – over 70,000 euros, the chance to prepare with the most experienced professionals in the region, victory, as well as the possibility to appear on “Eurovision” one day.

He explained that before the new auditions, a final competition will be held in North Macedonia for last year’s top-ranked competitors from four countries in the region.

Karadarević said that from Republika Srpska, Prnjavor, Prijedor, Pale, Gradiška, and Derventa will participate, as well as cities like Novi Sad, Požarevac, Apatin, Topola, Kikinda, Zrenjanin, Budva, Nikšić, Podgorica, Cetinje, Tivat, Strumica, and other cities.

He signed a cooperation agreement for 2024 with the Mayor of Prijedor, Darko Tomaš, after which he expressed pleasure at the continuation of joint work on this significant regional music project.

“The city of Prnjavor works hard and invests a lot in promoting sports, youth, culture, and that is exactly the group we belong to. When we see so much investment in young people, our hearts are full, and this kind of cooperation is a tailwind for everyone,” Karadarević highlighted.

Tomaš thanked the director and the entire “Rhythm of Europe” team for representing Prnjavor properly last year, as well as the young citizens Marija Magdalena Moreti and Aleksandar Dvorančić, to whom he wished a lot of success for the upcoming performance in North Macedonia.

“It was an honor to be part of this event. We signed a contract today to continue our cooperation in 2024, and I am confident that the media promotion of Prnjavor will be no less than a year earlier,” Tomaš emphasized.

The winner of last year’s competition in Gradiška, titled “Republika Srpska in the Rhythm of Europe,” was the team from the municipality of Pale.

Among the top five were also Prnjavor residents Marija Magdalena Moreti and Aleksandar Dvorančić, who perform the song “Arcade,” the song with which the Dutch representative won Eurovision in 2019.
