The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, is undoubtedly the most endangered person today in BiH, emphasized the Dean of the Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Banja Luka, Predrag Ćeranić, regarding the information that an assassination attempt is being prepared against the President of Republika Srpska, as stated by the head of the SNSD parliamentary group in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Sanja Vulić.
Ćeranić, speaking on the Morning Program of RTRS, emphasized that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska has the task of securing protected persons, including President Dodik.
“Among those protected persons, Dodik is the most endangered, and threats come on a daily basis, either via email or through social networks. These threats are analyzed by the Administration for the Protection of Persons and Facilities. In 90% of cases, these threats are unfounded, and the remaining 10% are forwarded to the Administration for Combating Terrorism and Extremism, after which measures are taken where there is a real danger,” Ćeranić stated.
He highlighted that no threat is dismissed and mentioned the good inter-police cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.
“Despite its minister, Ramo Isak, we have impeccable cooperation and complete trust with the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs. The professionals do their job and nothing is left to chance. Regarding the latest threat to Dodik, I am not aware of any information exchange between the two Ministries of Internal Affairs, but I am sure that all measures will be taken to verify this information,” Ćeranić said.
Ćeranić also mentioned that the information about trees being cut down in front of the Court of BiH could suggest that an assassination attempt on Dodik with a sniper is being prepared in Sarajevo.
“Today, the biggest danger is a drone, because it is cheap to acquire and can easily be equipped with an explosive device. However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska has acquired anti-drone rifles, and any assassination attempt would be neutralized,” Ćeranić concluded.
