President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that it is well-known that Russia is a historical ally of Srpska, and he supports the fact that the Russian Federation is trying to maintain its sovereignty in these times.

Dodik described Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with Radio Free Europe as a “world leader and a hope for global peace on a global level.”

“I support the fact that the Russian Federation, despite all attacks, is trying to maintain its legal existence against all attempts from the West. I was at the conference in Munich when Mr. Putin addressed the audience, but they did not take him seriously. I’m glad that Russia hasn’t succumbed to sanctions in the West’s efforts to break up states into five independent republics, managing and acquiring natural resources,” stated Dodik.

Dodik reminded us that Russia became the largest investor in Bosnia and Herzegovina last year and emphasized that in talks with Putin, they do not play the role of beggars.

“When I communicate with Putin, I don’t play the role of a beggar. I am proud to have the opportunity to converse with Mr. Putin. In the last 20 years, there has been no world leader I haven’t met, with the exception of former U.S. President Bill Clinton and many other leaders. Mr. Putin is a strong leader who stands by his beliefs. I believe the Russian people are very fortunate to have such a president. Without Putin, Russia wouldn’t have survived. That’s why the West doesn’t like him,” emphasized Dodik.

The President of Srpska mentioned that Putin has never asked for anything from anyone but has shown understanding. He has consistently emphasized the need to maintain peace in the region and has never demanded anything from Republika Srpska.

“During that time, when you come to the West, they immediately tie your hands. Putin, in the true sense of the word, is my friend and ally. He is also a friend of Europe because he wants to communicate,” said Dodik.

As evidence of his statements, Dodik pointed out that Putin provided cheap gas to Germany to support its progress, and numerous technologies from Germany were used in Russia. However, he mentioned that “one day Angela Merkel came to power and said she did not want such cooperation.”

“Russia has a historical role to play in saving the free world, and I celebrate the victory of Vladimir Putin in the upcoming presidential elections. If I can send such a message, I call on Russians to vote for Putin,” added Dodik.
