Milorad Dodik, the President of Republika Srpska, stated that they will create a new electoral law in accordance with the BiH and Republika Srpska constitutions.

The law will position Republika Srpska constitutionally and grant its election commission the authority to conduct municipal and republic-level elections, aiming to regain their rightful jurisdiction.

He also mentioned that this law will be presented to the opposition in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska and swiftly forwarded for consideration.

Dodik emphasized the necessity of reaching internal political agreements to address crucial matters like the Electoral Law, highlighting the disruption in the relationship between Republika Srpska and the newly formed authorities in BiH, attributed to Christian Schmidt’s actions regarding the Central Election Commission’s overreach into areas that, according to Dodik, belong to Republika Srpska.
