The Republika Srpska has previously elected judges to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, largely believing that fairness in the actions of this court is possible, said the President of the Republika of Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

Unfortunately, Dodik states, this has not been the case in recent years.

“That’s why we cannot trust that institution. Serbian judges there have served as decoration rather than as a constructive part of protecting the Constitution, not only of Serbs and the Republic of Srpska but also constitutional values. They have abused it to the extent that everything has become meaningless,” said Dodik in Banja Luka after a meeting with His Grace Bishop Jefrem of Banja Luka.

He emphasized that the Republic of Srpska has clearly stated that two judges from Srpska will not be elected until a new composition of the Constitutional Court is regulated and all unconstitutional powers and rules that it has arrogated to itself are revoked.

“This court is decadent,” Dodik stated.
