The National Theater of Republika Srpska is pleased to inform the public that it will participate in the official Republic Day celebration program this year as well.

The monodrama “Evgenije Onegin. Chapters from the novel” by Petar Semak, actor of the Alexandrinsky Theater from St. Petersburg. The play was based on the novel of the same name in verse by Aleksandr Sergeyevich Pushkin, written in 1831 and published in 1837.

This first realistic socio-psychological novel in Russian criticism is considered an “encyclopedia of Russian life” because of the way it introduces the reader to life in Russia in the last quarter of the 18th century. Evgeny Onegin, disillusioned with city life and its superficial pleasures, tries to find peace in the Russian province, but his nature as a “superfluous man” does not allow him to realize his desire.

Entry is free with tickets picked up at the NPRS ticket office on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m
