A Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, stated that it is absurd for Christian Schmidt to threaten due to non-compliance with the decisions of the Constitutional Court, given that the same Constitutional Court confirmed in 2006 that someone must go through the appointment procedure in the UN Security Council to become a High Representative.

“This man did not go through the appointment procedure, meaning he does not respect the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Cvijanović stated.

When asked by SRNA to comment on Schmidt’s statement that it is up to law enforcement agencies, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, and the police to take the appropriate legally prescribed steps, especially in cases related to public officials and state employees participating in the preparation or organization of the celebration of January 9, Cvijanović responded that the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH has been respected regarding the law.

“As this state has deteriorated to the very bottom, it is frightening. Christian Schmidt is evidently the biggest obstacle on BiH’s European path, but also in establishing order in a state that is in total disorder,” Cvijanović emphasized.

She added that we are on the threshold of 2024, listening to an individual who is not democratically elected in our country, an individual who has not passed the appointment procedure even according to international law, and if he had passed, he could not do what he is doing now—exercising force, persistently threatening us, and doing everything incompatible with both the European path and democracy.
“Force has never passed through here throughout history, and it won’t now,” Cvijanović concluded.
