The choice of athlete was a big surprise for me; I didn’t expect this. The year has been tough, but in such a year, every recognition makes it even more significant and cherished, said judoka Bozidar Vucurevic in an interview for Morning Program RTRS.
“There was euphoria around the competition, but this choice of athlete was a big surprise; I didn’t expect this. The Judo Federation of Serbia organized the European Cup this year, and I won a gold medal at that tournament; it was a special event for me. The audience is crucial; before, I used to have stress from expectations, but now the audience is an additional boost,” emphasized Vucurevic.
He added that judo is truly an art and that Nemanja Majdov played a significant role in the expansion of this sport in our region.
Vucurevic advised the youth to have a clear goal, no matter what they do, and not to give up on it.
“Judo is a real sport because it teaches us to fight,” concluded Vucurevic.
Vucurevic was declared the best athlete of the Republic of Srpska for the year 2023.
