Trebinje, the Public Institution “Bazeni” (Swimming Pools), and the Water Polo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina plan to submit an application for Trebinje to host the qualifying tournament for the European Water Polo Under-19 Championship scheduled for March 2024.
In connection with this, a meeting was held between the Mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić, the director of “Bazeni,” Bojan Okuka, and the president of the Water Polo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Branimir Butigan.
If successful, Trebinje would have the opportunity to host five European national teams, and ten qualifying matches would be played at the indoor Olympic pool.
Bojan Okuka, the director of JU Bazeni, stated that Trebinje, along with its Olympic pool, possesses all the necessary facilities to successfully host such a tournament.
