“The Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina is very attractive to radical Islamism, which is why the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska has a special unit for combating extremism and terrorism. The ministry continually warns about this menace and the negative impact of paradigms in Bosnia and Herzegovina—a problem that institutions have ignored for years, citing the constitution and citizens’ freedoms.
“The fact is that many individuals who have committed terrorist acts worldwide were previously present in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Such individuals see Bosnia and Herzegovina as a favorable place from which they can act towards Europe. All this indicates that this country is very attractive for radical Islamism,” said Karan, responding to parliamentary questions during the Current Affairs session.
Karan pointed out that terrorism is a serious global problem and that the creation of paradigms in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been a prolonged process that institutions have turned a blind eye to for years, citing the constitution and citizens’ freedoms.
He emphasized the need to prevent the negative influence of paradigms on society and security and their assimilation into the Islamic community.
“For years, we have been warning that Wahhabi communities and paradigms are forming in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and radical Islamists are seeking to impose their faith and laws on Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, a response from political, religious, and judicial institutions is needed,” noted Karan.
The Minister of Justice of Republika Srpska, Miloš Bukejlović, stated that the ministry, through the Ministry of Justice in the Council of Ministers, has requested Croatia to extradite the fugitive Ivica Mišković, who was convicted of pedophilia by the Basic Court in Banja Luka.
Mišković, who also holds Croatian citizenship, fled to Croatia after the judgment of the Banja Luka court. He claimed to have crossed the border “illegally” on a bicycle and expressed no intention to surrender, nor does he fear extradition.”
