Galijašević: Realization of Western interests through certain NGOs

Security expert Dževad Galijašević assessed certain non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in BiH as “special structures tasked with realizing the interests of Western governments at the expense of Republika Srpska,” but also noted that the people understand that an attack on the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, is simultaneously an attack on Republika Srpska.

Galijašević stated that the people in Republika Srpska initiated useful gatherings to demonstrate the potential to defend the authority they have elected.

“The people understand that an attack on the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, is an attack on Republika Srpska. It is not the UK’s private war against Dodik but against the position of the Serb people in Bosnia and Herzegovina. People understand that this is the goal of the game with trials in Sarajevo,” Galijašević said to SRNA.

He mentioned that “Republika Srpska, thanks to Dodik’s strategy to defend itself, is the first institutional line of defense against sparking conflicts.”

Galijašević emphasized that Dodik preserves a political system that guarantees effective responses to what he referred to as British “malicious policy.”

“The second level of protection is international support and Dodik’s personal contacts. The third level is the protection of Russia, which is most visible in the UN, where it blocks initiatives that we sometimes don’t even see because they have been halted,” highlighted Galijašević.

He expressed confidence that a law on the activities of NGOs would be introduced in Republika Srpska to protect the integrity of the legitimately elected government.

“The law should answer the question – who finances non-governmental organizations? Those funded by the West work against Republika Srpska by playing a destructive role in relation to its stability,” Galijašević stated.

Galijašević believes that Bosniaks are being drawn into a narrative by a hegemon who wants to destroy all elements of statehood in this area, and the West aims for Republika Srpska to become a non-state entity, just as BiH cannot be called a state.

“People in Republika Srpska do not want to allow this and therefore gather to show that the border exists – both territorial and in the domain of state sovereignty. The border is part of the sense and national consciousness of the community, not just in papers and the Dayton Agreement,” concluded Galijašević.
