The Football Club “Drina HE” has received support from the municipality of Višegrad to organize a centenary celebration next year, which will be marked by a series of events, as agreed upon during today’s meeting.
The Mayor of Višegrad, Mladen Đurević, expressed satisfaction with the club’s outstanding achievements this year and mentioned the establishment of an organizing committee for the centenary celebration.
Club President Dejan Krsmanović highlighted the club’s successful competitive year, finishing the initial part of the season in first place, with one more game remaining.
“We’ve achieved all our set goals in sports and have aimed to stabilize and improve the club’s operations. I hope we can strengthen the team with new players, secure our place at the top of the table, and advance to the First League of Republika Srpska. Having a premier league team in the municipality is significant,” emphasized Krsmanović.
He emphasized that the Višegrad municipality largely allocates funds for the club’s functioning, while the rest of the funding comes from the main sponsor, “Drina Hydroelectric Power Plants.”
The team’s captain, Bojan Marković, mentioned that this has been one of the most successful seasons and expressed a strong desire to return to the First League of Republika Srpska.
“Let’s aim to gift Višegrad our return to the First League for the centenary celebration,” emphasized Marković.
FK “Drina HE” currently holds the top position in the Second League of Republika Srpska, East group.
